Members,
We have a secondary leak on the concrete line near the recent repair point. Unfortunately, the water will have to be valved off to facilitate the repair. Currently, the plan is for repairs to begin Monday morning at 7am and continue throughout the day until at least 6pm. We are sending this notification now to allow you all of the time you need to prepare for the care of your families and livestock. Please fill and keep all troughs full as this leak has the potential to become more severe at any point before Monday.
We will keep you informed as we move forward.
Thank you.
Just to clarify, barring any emergencies, water service will not be interrupted until Monday morning. This leak is in the same area as the one affecting members on Tuesday and Wednesday, no other areas are affected.

Members,
The welding is complete and the line has been repaired. Crews are now working on pressurizing the line and checking the repair. Please bear with us as we flush the system and get water moving to your homes.

The welder has been on site and is nearly finished grinding and chipping away the old concrete. Once that is completed, he will weld the replacement piece on and encase the exposed portion of the pipe in concrete. Barring any complications, water service will be restored sometime this evening. Please note: you will have white cloudy water, this is air in the lines and will dissipate over time and with use. We will be out flushing the lines to move as much air out of the lines as possible before it reaches your homes.
Again, we thank you for your patience and consideration. Have a blessed evening.

Good morning,
The concrete line has been dug out, the leak exposed, and allowed to drain overnight. The welders should be here sometime around noon to begin the repair on the line. Once the repair is made, KWSC crews will begin slowly repressurizing the system to avoid any further breaks from pressure fluctuation.

Boil Water Notice for Community Public Water Systems
October 22, 2024
Due to a leak on the concrete main line, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the Kempner Water Supply Corporation, 1410028, public water system to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc). Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions).
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the public water system officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the public water system will issue a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice.
Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.
If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Kempner Water Supply Corporation at (512)932-3701 or (254)547-9430.
IMPORTANT: This Boil Notice is for all members that have been, and continue to be, affected by the leak on the concrete line. All members that lost water service on 10/22/24 will need to boil their water once the repair is made and water service has been restored. Those of you that DID NOT lose water service are before the break and will NOT need to boil your water. Again, we thank you for your patience while our crew works tirelessly to restore your water service, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Members,
We have a leak on a concrete main near the intersection of FM 2808 and HWY 190. KWSC crews are on site. There could potentially be system wide pressure fluctuations or loss of water service depending on where the water line will need to be valved off to begin repairs. This is all the information we have for you right now, we will keep you updated as we learn more.
